Wildebeest Migration

The wanderlust-that great desire to travel entirely depends upon the onset of the rainy season. The great migration is one of the annul highlights and natures most dramatic migration takes place in the African plains of Kenya and Tanzania, where more than a million animals braving their pilgrim every year. Giant herds of wildebeest and zebras leave the southern part of East Africa heading north across the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.

The predators of the African jungle lion, hyena, and the enormous Nile crocodiles await their annual banquet as widebesste, zebra and countless herbivores battle the ranging currents of the Mara River to get to the lush grasslands - rain ripened grass. There is no real beginning or end to a wildebeest's journey. Its life is an endless pilgrimage, a constant search for food and water. The only beginning is at the moment of birth. The migration is rarely ever the same in terms of the precise timing and direction as local weather conditions influence grass growth.
