The Sand dunes of Suguta Valley

Fly over the extraordinary Suguta Valley which is part of the Great East African Rift Valley. The Captivating geological formations with vast sand dunes, ‘painted’ valleys, a seasonal crater lake fringed pink by hundreds flocks of flamingoes - Lake Logipe.
The trip features the world’s largest desert lake, the Lake Turkana also known as the Jade Sea almost incandescent, colour of its waters. On the ground are the wildlife of Africa sweeping across the Lerochi plateau above the herds of Zebra, Oryx and Thomson Gazelle. Climb steadily to the 8,000 feet peak of Lesiolo. From this famous viewpoint swoop down the face of the Rift Valley and follow me luggas through increasingly dramatic and tortured lands. Here great, graceful dunes are waiting for the brave to “moon-run” with giant steps down the soft sand of their steep sides. During the heat of the day the baking sands will force you to picnic under the shade of the palms by the Suguta River, but in the evening or early morning no move is necessary. The beauty of the lonely sands is truly awe-inspiring.
